- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Certain members of this A&E team are a absolute disgrace to the NHS, i would like to stress that this is not aimed at the department as a whole as they work tirelessly at doing a great job. Sat in A&E for over 5 hours 9.30pm - 2.30am with my 8 year old with a torn earlobe, only to see the doctor to be told theres nothing he can do & was transferring her care to Doncaster where the Ear, Nose & Throat department is! When I decided Doncaster was too far for us I rang ahead to Rotherham A&E & decided i would be discharging my daughter & going to Rotherham, after getting the discharge papers & signing them the extremely rude, arrogant Doctor then decided to come into the room & start shouting about my decision, telling me i was wrong, questioning my actions & accusing me of putting my child at risk. When I asked the nurse who clearly does not have a clue what she is doing to remove my daughter's cannula she was doing nothing but stood looking pathetic cowering under the doctors power trip! This was the same nurse whom had supposedly triaged my daughter from behind a glass screen 5 hours earlier ( I may add the doctor put the canulla in without prior warning to my child & left the belt on my daughter's arm! I had to remove it ) I seriously do not know what all the fuss was about at the hospital & why the doctor felt the need to be so awkward, we arrived at Rotherham at 3.45am & was on our way home at 6.15am, my daughter had her ear cleaned & stitched, was given a perception & sent home in 2 & 1/2 hours at Rotherham vs the 6 hours at Bassetlaw to be told "No you need to go to Doncaster". Lesson learnt I will be using Rotherham in future.by Jodi BurtonNovember 03, 2017
